04 Jun Dubai’s Floating Villas With Glass Walled Underwater Bedrooms
Taking advantage of a region where a seven-figure USD price tag for residential property has long been the norm rather than the exception, Dubai Property Developer, Kleindienst, now have the first of 42 semi-submerged villas — dubbed Sea-horses — in place, six kilometres off the coast of Dubai.
Villas from which they plan to take over the world, mwoarhahahaha! No, not really.
The Sea-horse villas form part of the Heart of Europe — a cluster of six islands — which forms part of The World in Dubai. Still with me? The World in Dubai is a work-in-progress, artificial archipelago of 300 man-made islands which very vaguely represents the world map.
Each Sea-horse villa comprises three levels. The main living level at sea level comes decked out with all mod-cons, including a state-of-the-art kitchen, swanky lounge area, spa bath and an alfresco-dining-cum-money-counting deck*.
There’s an upper level too, but the real bonus lies below sea-level in the master bedroom where floor to ceiling glass provides an unobstructed 360 degree view of the Persian Gulf (visibility permitting). The perfect place for plotting.
Kleindienst Chief Executive Officer, Josef Kleindienst stated:
“The seahorse is an endangered species and we will create an artificial coral reef beneath the luxury retreats which will be a protected area in which seahorses can safely live and breed.”
Got a spare USD $3.3M in cash to splash? If so get in touch with the developer.
